MEET DR. KOHN   | HEAR Dr. Kohn  |

Dr. Robert G. Kohn is board certified in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry.  His post graduate training includes two residencies: psychiatry through West Virginia University and neurology through the Chicago Medical School and Cook County Hospital.

He has obtained a license with the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety after completing a fellowship in Nuclear Brain Imaging at the University of Illinois in Chicago under the training of Dr. Daniel Pavel.

Born in 1955 in New York City, Dr. Kohn completed his Bachelors degree in Psychology graduating Magna cum Laude from Adelphi University in New York. He attended the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine graduating in 1984.

Dr. Kohnís practice experience has included primary care settings in rural Missouri and Kansas, neuropsychiatric experience with the developmentally disabled working for the state of Illinois and West Virginia.  Dr. Kohn's experience also includes consultations in child neurology for the community special education district in his home town and educational posts in Neurology and Radiology departments at the University of Illinois- Chicago.  Dr. Kohn is a past president of the Chicago Neurological Society (2001-2002).

Integrating systems in order to improve the efficiency of treatment in medicine has been a primary interest of Dr. Kohn. This is based in his osteopathic educational roots, which stresses the interrelatedness of the bodyís structure and function. Combining an approach that views an integration of the brain and mind is an extension of this philosophy.  Brain SPECT imaging  is the tool Dr. Kohn uses to apply this approach in his practice.
